Downing College Accommodation

There is availability to book accommodation at Downing College during your time at the Conference. Please note that these rooms are limited, so ensure you book early. There are three room options in Downing Collge:

Superior Single, Superior Double and Superior Twin rooms: The Superior rooms in the Kenny Buildings, Howard Lodge & N staircase have been furnished to hotel standard and boast a private bathroom with toiletries, superior furnishings, a luxury welcome tray and TV facilities. The rooms in Howard Lodge have recently been refurbished to a high standard offering double-bedded accommodation. Click here for accommodation prices.

There is alternative accommodation available for the duration of the conference in Cambridge. The booking of this accommodation is not available on our website however you can find a listing of hotels, guesthouses and self catering accommodation by clicking on the links.

Access to Downing College is via the Main Entrance on Regent Street. For security reasons, the pedestrian gate is closed at 11.00pm (sometimes earlier, depending on external activity). Access after this time is via the Porters’ Lodge, by ringing the bell.

Rooms are normally available to guests from 2.00pm on their day of arrival, and must be vacated by 9.30am on the day of departure. A luggage room is available on request.

The College tradition is that only the Master and Fellows of the College may walk on the lawns. The Paddock, situated to the south of the Main Court, is available for informal ball games and relaxation. Benches are provided for your comfort.
